Artist Spotlight: Catskill (Canada)

Face it! Your favorite rapper lacks identity. Originality doesn’t exist---the death of FM radio is near. We know it, and you know it. Legions of rappers are incorporating user-friendly lyrics with tacky synthesizers, idiotic dancing, and auto-tuning themselves into George Michael. Pathetic. Is this what the Rap game has become? It has my friends. In 2009, the hip hop scene has indeed had its share of misfortunes. Safe to say that all hope is gone--right! Try telling that to Canada’s lyrical madman, Catskill, who has been stirring up industry controversy with his fearless wordplay, cut-throat image, and undeniable lyrical ability. Your favorite rapper is dead. Get ready for the “Heir to the Throne”.

After reigning in the underground hip hop circuit for several years, rockin’ local sell-out shows, and rippin anyone who stood in his way, Catskill had caught the attention of legendary DJ, Clinton Sparks. The chemistry between the two was instantaneous, and together they would create the blueprint for a debut masterpiece---a masterpiece just as rare and unique as the man behind the mic. Experience musical bliss and chaos, rolled into one stacked dutchmaster of orchestrated genius. Bangers like “Sugar Town” reflect Catskill’s unique energy and hilarious comical delivery. A sense of humor is not included, although preferred. You’ll assume its all fun and games until you turn on the murderous anthem, “Kill Em” however, which contains a hard-hitting chorus that will paralyze any listener with the force of a Tyson right-hook to the brain! Leave that Asher Roth bullshit at the door! Catskill is an artist of many talents, capable of dominating any theme and this is thoroughly recognized throughout his exciting debut. Feel his passion to succeed, against all odds, on the radio-friendly smash “Year of the Cat”. A song that serves as an inspiration for all, delivered in the way only Catskill can deliver it. We don’t want to spoil the opportunity you’ve been waiting for by telling you about what this man can do, experience it for yourself! Prepare yourself for epic music that will etch its way inside your mind, and heart for years to come. “My music is meant to be controversial; it’s meant to be talked about, to be studied,” says the talented Emcee.

“Armed with a bright future, there is no predicting what Catskill is capable of, and where his limits initiate. He is currently in the midst of an industry bidding war, and one of serious financial proportions. Can’t contain your excitement?! The good news is you don’t have to wait to get your hands on “Heir to the Throne”. Get ready to experience the future of hip-hop as we know it, as Clinton knows it, and soon enough, the world. The already classic “Heir to the Throne” features guest appearances from Clinton Sparks, and Bizarre of D-12--Available now, supplies are limited.

Contact Katz Management at 407-219-1377 to book Catskill or for interviews. Good luck to all!

Example of How To End Your Career In Hip Hop

Rappers...
a lot of you guys are so called "real niggaz"...
I mean I am a rapper too, but its certain lines you DON'T cross!

Let me explain...
If you send a industry pro
(ex. a DJ, producer, A&R, exec., etc...)
some music...
and they agree to give feedback... GREAT!

If, for some reason (which may be rare smh)...
they DON'T like the music, and give you feedback,
THAT YOU ASKED FOR... that you don't agree with...

GET OVER IT
WORK HARDER
TRY AGAIN LATER

Here is a perfect example of what you do to end your career...
even if it is just beginning... like opening stages beginning...
I mean like still in the hood just started rapping last week beginning...
yeah even if its that early...

A certain underground rapper, who no ones ever heard of, sends a record to a famous DJ, who in turn agrees to give it a listen. The DJ then gives "constructive criticism" (learn that phrase kids) and says its not anything he would play. Just being honest, the DJ tells the rapper that he is not ready. (This is the career ending part) The rapper, who was just so happy the DJ listened, thanks him for playing the record on Shade45 (yeah, that Shade45).

The DJ is like "What? who said I played it on Shade45". (Hold on, hold on... forgot to remind you, they never formally met, this was a twitter thing... smh gotta love the internet). Sooo, one of the DJ's followers makes it worse, and says something like "yeah, that'll teach him" (not exactly their words, but it sounds funny) and the young rapper is now highly pissed thinking that the DJ is trying to play him.

He then responds with a big budget youtube video (I had to say that... lmao big budget) which is a freestyle over Jay Z's "Death of Autotune". Now... if you are going to diss a DJ, who happens to be the foundation of hip hop, and THIS DJ is one of the (bleep) DJ's, a group of DJ's that break records nationwide, make sure the record is playable. By playable, I mean, GOOD! I mean like, NOT WHACK!

But no, no, no, that's not all. In the song, the rapper, throws shot at another DJ, and even a multi-platinum grammy nominated producer. Grammy nominated. Another industry pro he met on Twitter. Multi platinum. He takes shots at the producer because... the producer wanted to charge him for a record? (what? when did producer stop giving away free beats... lmao) Im pretty sure he isn't worried about producer for a "prominent up-and-comer" like you when he produces for people like Lil' Wayne.

But back to the song. The song is, mixed... horribly. Every few seconds a tag/drop says "Media Demo"... obviously the young rapper recorded the record at home. With his PC microphone and the demo version of a home studio. Smh. But don't get me wrong, the rapping... is... just as horrible. He then "mass tweets" the link to the diss record. I repeat, the link to the diss record. Mass tweets. And gets into a argument with some of the other (bleep) DJ's, who came to defend their partner. Twitter argument. Smh.

After his "twitter campaign" and I'm sure he mentioned it on Myspace and Facebook, and even Blackplanet or Urbanchat (if that still exist) the video has gained... drumroll... 48 views... well 47 subtract mine please. And the only comment it received says "Is it really that serious? Niggas make diss tracks to people they beef w. on the intermet? Hmmph. Wow. Have fun with that *SMH*"

Here's where he made a mistake. The (bleep) DJ's have hands in all markets when it comes to hip hop. East coast, Left coast, Down here, and even in the midwest. Why are you taking shots at the ones who play records. DJ's stick together, and if you mess with one of the (bleep) DJ's, you messed with them all. DON'T DISS DJ'S, EVEN THE LITTLE HOMETOWN 43 YEAR OLD DJ'S WHO DJ'ED DISCO PARTIES AT A HOLE IN THE WALL 27 YEARS AGO. Oh, and don't diss multi platinum, grammy nominated, famous, super producers either. They don't like that.

Another rapper's career bites the delicious dust. Smh.

PS... if you wanna hear the song (you don't)...
here's the link... don't click it, it sucks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8bcu2pmddo

Oh, and the DJ's I'm talking about are THE CORE DJ'S... YEAH THOSE CORE DJ'S!

Oh, and the white kid isn't the rapper. But even he has a better chance of making it now. Smh.

"Dem Wheels Spinnin" Video (C. Renegade & Big Hurt)

Artist Spotlight: XO (Texas, Bucc Up Records)

"WHERE THEY AT?" THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST QUESTIONS IN THE HIP HOP GAME WHEN IT COMES TO FEMALE MC'S. "XO" IS THE ANSWER! SINCE 1984 X HAS FACED ADVERSITY AND HARD TIMES BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP HER, FROM THE BRUTAL MURDER OF HER FATHER TO BEING HOMELESS AT 19 (ENOUGH DRAMA TO MAKE A MOVIE) SHE OVERCAME IT ALL. X ATTENDED LONGVIEW HIGH IN TEXAS WHERE SHE GRADUATED AND FIRST STARTED TO RAP. HER LOVE FOR MUSIC NEVER DIED AND SHE CONTINUED TO GRIND. THEN CAME A GUY NAMED "AL-B"(FUTURE HUSBAND AND MANAGER) HE WAS BLOWN AWAY INSTANTLY AFTER HEARING X RAP. HE MARVELED AT HER CRUNK, NO HOLDS BARRED, RUGGED RAP STYLE AND REALIZED THERE WAS NOTHING LIKE IT IN THE GAME. HE PREACHED TO HER THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO ALWAYS RAP ABOUT THINGS THAT FEMALES ARE SUPPOSED TO RAP ABOUT, TO NEVER LIMIT HERSELF. WITH AL-B HANDLING THE MUSIC AND PROMO AND X OBLITERATING EVERY TRACK THEY BECAME A GREAT TEAM AND THE MUSIC THAT WAS CREATED WAS GREAT! SOON AFTER THEY CREATED M.I.M ENTERTAINMENT (MUSIC IS ME) AND CREATED A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DALLAS BASED LABEL "BUCC UP RECORDS" TO TAKE THEIR MUSIC FURTHER THAN HOME. X FEELS LIKE HER TIME IS "NOW" AND STARTS OFF EVERY TRACK BOLDLY YELLING "XO IN DIS BITCH!!!!! "

Willy Northpole Diss (Claims Willy only sold 2,800 ALBUMS)

The very same state in which he has taken credit for putting on the map is taking any and all stripes away from DTP/Def Jam recording artist Willy Northpole! After being one of Def Jam's worst releases (Tha Connect - 2800 units) in its 25 year history Willy is still not humbled by the humiliation. In fact he decided to diss the very same people who carried him on their back with the record "Garbage Disposal 3".

Well Tajji Sharp (who has been linked with Kanye West & Kanye's Good Music imprint) is now telling the story of the true Willy Northpole and how in fact how he is an embarrassment for the Arizona music movement and the epitome of a garbage disposal!

Artist Spotlight: Venice (FLA & ATL)

What type of Artist and Songwriter do you get when you mix some old school Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, and Sam Cooke with a little new school Usher, Ne-Yo, and Chris Brown? The product is VENICE. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; this is where the journey of being Venice begins. At only a few years of age he and his family move to a South Florida town named Fort Pierce. This is where he lived most of his childhood years, all the way through high school. While living in Florida, Venice discovered his musical talents around the age of 10. Slowly but surely his confidence in music became stronger as more and more of friends, family and strangers would acknowledge the fact that he could sing. It wasn't until he was in high school that he began to officially pursue a career in music. Venice and some high school friends formed a local group in Fort Pierce. The group called "JAVE'" performed in several talent shows, showcases in their local area. JAVE' eventually got signed to a local independent label. As time progressed with the group and it was time for graduation from college so the group split. Venice then moved to Atlanta, GA. to attend college in the AUC and also continue his dreams of working in the music industry as a singer and songwriter. Since moving to Atlanta, Venice has performed in several open mic nights at clubs and showcases; including a showcase sponsored by the group Jagged Edge. He is now currently in the studio working on his independent album he plans to called "Reassurance." This Full Length (LP) should be out sometime in the summer 2009. Representing that FLORIDA MOVEMENT and ATL to the fullest; Venice is also trying to shop his Summer bangers called "Overdose", "2 Late ft. Stoney J.", and "Pretender" (CHECK EM' OUT)!!! He plans to also release a 4th & extra single "Some Type of Way"; depending on the success of his upcoming debut album. Venice was robbed and shot 6 times early 2008, was hospitalized, and is now doing much better. Venice says that his debut album's name "Reassurance" fits his life and confirms his passion for music even more now than before being shot.

SOMETHING TO KNOW: Venice is actually his REAL name; His legal name is just spelled differently.

Muzik Clazz Interview of Cedric "Drizz" Sampson (CEO of DrizzleWorld Ent.)

Introduce yourself to the world in one sentence... What do we NEED to know about you?

What's happening everybody, South Kak to be exact, this is Drizzle better known as Drizz, representing hard for the state. I am Director of Entertainment Services for the Enteratainment Label 'DrizzleWorld ENT'. I specialize in Artist Management & Development as well as Songwriting. At this present time Im in developmental stages and looking motivated, determined talent.

Ok. Young & motivated, and you rep a state thats gaining popularity at an alarming rate. But what got you into the business in the first place?

Well, at first, I actually decided to attempt to go straight in as an artist, but after careful consideration and research realized that I would have a greater opportunity, a greater impact by concentrating on a bigger picture, therefore thought it would be best to develop a Label...a Music/Entertainment Empire where I would not only put myself on but others also.

Helping others first. What's the label called?

The label is called DrizzleWorld ENT, where we are focused on Introducing A New World of Music...Presenting an approach to the people that is new, fresh, exciting and creative.
DrizzleWorld ENT... and you ARE looking for talented artist and producers if I'm not mistaking? Also where did the name DrizzleWorld originate?

Yes, that is true, we are searching for new talented artists, producers, promoters, models, photographers and much more as we grow and expand. Now my name and the Label's name intertwine in meaning and origination...'Drizzle' was a term I used to denote a gradual effect. In past years, I came across some rough times and at times found myself almost on the edge, but continued pushing and working hard. Things began to gradually get better and things I planned began to gradually take effect. It just so happened to be raining one day when I thought of the name for myself...it was a slight 'Drizzle' outside and I instantly decided that 'Drizzle would be the best alias for me at that time. Just recently, I began calling myself Drizz to make the name a little more appealing and easier to use sorta speak.

Thats original. But what keeps you motivated?

Well, ever since I started getting serious with making moves in the industry, I did have a great deal of negativity and disbelief in my abilities and what I was capable of. And the funny thing about it, most of it was coming from close friends and family. But as time progressed, I was determined to show not just them but everyone that I can rise and make history. That mentality has instillied a great deal of pride inside me also, which I would say keeps me fully motivated day-to-day to keep moving no matter what obstacle lies ahead.

And you said you're focusing on building your brand, building your company right. What would be your basic standards for prospects who want to be apart of DrizzleWorld?

Well, of course talent is always the number 1 thing anyone in this industry would want , but to accompany that, the standards I am in search of would be Determination - The ability to focus and push oneself to overachieve, Professionalism - The ability to present oneself distinctively and perform their task or assignment in such a manner, and Passion - The ability to perform their duty or task with everything they've got.

Strong standards. If more labels had this we wouldn't have so much mediocre talent flooding the radio. What do think about the "ringtone rap" nowadays?

I personally think that 'ringtone rap' sells and has the potential to draw a fan-base, but in my opinion it is a catchy, creative way to captivate the audience. I am attracted to artists that make songs about thier life...where they've been, what they've been through, success they've had or what they've overcome. Celebration tracks catch my attention as well!

But I forgot to touch on your skills. You write songs also right? What else is in your repertoire?

Yes I do specialize in Artist Management & Development and Songwriting at the present time. I do also in the very near future plan on taking piano lessons. The piano has such a melodic vibe to it...That would have to be my favorite instrument by the way. In the future also there are plans for a studio chain to be launching called Drowned In Sounds Recording Studios, As well as several stores opening that will specialize in the sales of Studio Equipment and High-End Electronics. These will are intended to be launching sometime in 2011.

Anything else you would like to add? Any shout outs?

Yes, shout out to Sam King and the Million Dollar Dreamz fam holding it down in ATL, J. Doe over in Aiken...he's a beast with the beats, Kodak, the Super-Producer, getting that education and hands-on experience at Full Sail University in FLA, and most importantly the state of SC itself as a whole. This state has incredible potential and we are definitely on the rise and I cant wait to see everyone working hard in SC in the Music industry rewarded with recognition.

Ok.. Thanks for your time man...

No Problem, Anytime!

Muzik Clazz Interview of Suspekt

Tell me something about yourself.
The basic stuff. I'm an entrepreneur. I have a mind-set of a genius when it comes to business. I'm an artist, producer, graphics designer, web-designer, and run sites as well.

An entrepreneur involved in the business and an artist, where did you get the name Suspekt? Suspekt; That name came from my homie Fokuhs, over in Florence, SC. Before I ever really had a 'done-deal' name, I was goin' by my initials. Then me and Fokuhs got to talkin' about me needin' a real stage-name. So with my past and history, with being locked up, and what-not, he came up with "Suspekt". It fits me perfect. I was locked up 2 times in my life, without actually committing the crime they committed me for. Together, I served a 1 1/2 years off those two crimes. I feel i'm actually still a suspect.

Damn… If fits then. So how long have you been into hip hop, as far as a career?
I've been doing music for around 12 years. As far as a career, or having my name out there and buzzin'... Probably a solid 8 years out of the 12.

What would you say got you into hip hop in the first place?
Where I lived, & who I was around and grew up with. It was all that was played. I grew up around rap music. What got ME into music, was my family roots. I already had a love for music anyway. So things just clicked from the beginning.

So, what's your favorite thing about hip hop nowadays?
My favorite thing about hip hop... well, considering the fact that people are more open to being who they are, and the people are open to accept who the artist is. It was really hard back in the 90's and the beginning, if you weren't really gangsta rap, you wasn't really being looked at, just looked over. But now days, everyone is examining everyone. Example: Soulja Boy

Some people still aint changed over to accept that, but what would you change about hip hop? Well, i'm not exactly sure if I would change anything, but i'm sure I will break a few barriers and make people a lil more open minded to a "white rapper". I'm not one who can be compared to any other white artist who has been in the industry thus far. I'm bold. I dont wanna give out too much, gotta keep 'em wonderin. Feel me?

I feel you... So no comparison to Eminem for you?
Hell naw. Don't get me wrong, Eminem paved the true way for a white artist. Vanilla did his thang thang, & Kid Rock did his... But, look at who they've become. Eminem still is 8-mile, present day. He's mad talented. But i'm in no way in comparison. Not Paul Wall, not Lil Wyte, not Em, not Vanilla, nor Kid.

How do you feel about these new "ringtone rappers" that pop up all over the place now, like Soulja Boy, F.L.Y., New Boyz, etc.?
It's a new day, new hustle, what can I say? I mean, KRS ONE said it best when he discussed ringtone rappers. Thats all i'm gonna say to that.

I guess you got nothing to say about the "hipster rappers" Wale, Kid Cudi, Asher Roth, and Lupe Fiasco either?
Kid Cudi brought a new sound, I was feelin that joint 'Day N Night', Wale, he's been doin his thing, he was on that NBA 09 joint... dude nice... Asher, did his thing, and Lupe, now thats my dude... Lupe did his damn thing, but hip hop just isn't in the right state of mind right now... People aren't appealed to deep hip hop, they get bored on it. They want energy, I guess.

So what have YOU been up to lately, what moves have you been making?
Right now i'm about to kick off by workin' on my mixtape, "Criminal Mind'. It'll have a couple dope features. I'll let yall know 2. Young Cash w/ Nappy Boy and Haitian Fresh with Wyclef. It will be highly anticipated!

What would you say has been your biggest success in the industry so far?
Mainly my focus, & determination. As far as songs, my single, "Playin Games", and Big Money featuring Wes Fif. Those are a couple local bangers. People around here haven't yet seen those kind of moves made here. Had to surprise my home team a little. Then seein' west coast DJ of the year "DJ B Mello" backing me, they are lovin' it. The industry see's me!

But If the music didn't work, what would be next for Suspekt?
Well, i'm a graphic designer, producer, & engineer. I'm sure i'll make money some how. I'm doing it now.

Who have some of your biggest influences been?
KRS ONE, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, UGK, to name a few.

Gotta love UGK… Random question here... Whats the BEST 10 hip hop album of all time? Take your time!
Nas - illmatic, Public Enemy - It takes a nation of millions to hold us back, Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full, Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 chambers), The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die, Raekwon - Only built 4 cuban linx, A Tribe Called Quest - The low end theory, N.W.A. - Straight outta compton, Boogie Down Productions - Criminal Minded, and of course, one of my favorites, Dr. Dre - The Chronic ....Those were all classics!

How do you feel about the industry's trouble with downloading and stealing music?
It really bothers me... The industry needs to do somethin about that. It really takes away from the art. Artist aren't as eager to put out classic albums anymore, due to the fact that 60% of the fan base will either bootleg, or steal from the net.

Hell yeah, well we're done here. Is there anything else you would like to say?
South Carolina's Got Next, Believe it... We here!

Artist Spotlight: J.O. (South Carolina)

Jamal Otijele is a young rapper from Woodruff, South Carolina. Born on June 13th, 1990, this remarkable young man has been destined for greatness from the start. "I was born in Nigeria. Due to different family situations, we moved a pretty good amount of times while I was growing up. For a kid, it was definitely rough trying to adjust to different environments and then getting uprooted. Music was always where I could turn to. I mean, I was never a big time drug dealer and I never killed anybody. I knew a lot of people that had it a lot worse than I did, but life wasn't very easy for me. My parents were VERY far from rich and I saw a lot at an early age, and it all affected the way I walk, talk, and act today." Jamal's music reflects the things that impacted him most throughout life: hip-hop, poverty, love, and the hope for something more. He also strives to maintain lyricism within his songs. "I completely understand that all songs don't call for complex patterns and punch-lines, but all the emcees I looked up to my whole life were able to express themselves in a way that excited me. They made me want to really spit, and I wanna be able to carry that torch." When asked about what he wants to do with his talent and his future, he replies "Honestly, all I want is to be happy. I understand that God has given me a great talent and I want to use it to make a better life for myself and my family. I fell in love with music hard. It's not just a hobby for me. So years from now, not only do I wanna be a rich rapper, but I want to be able to help inspire anybody else with a dream." So, there you have it. That's J.O. in a nutshell. Young, gifted, and determined. If you don't remember anything else about him, never forget that J.O. IS THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2010 Chevy Camaro

You might recognize the new Camaro as Bubble Bee from the sequel to the blockbuster "Transformers", but the Camaro is far from new, and is a legend in its on right.

Chevrolet began producing Camaros in 1967 along with Firebirds and produced them until it's fourth-generation in 2002. In 2009 Chevy started making them again, and this is the car you see now, the fifth-generation.

The new Camaro's design is based heavily on the first edition. But the features are crazy! Chevy even lets you go to their site and customize your own version of the vehicle. Heres the one I came up with! (Sorry Bumble Bee, all my cars are black bruh!)

I tried to fit every feature I could into it and came out to a price of $41,800. Nice price for all the engine and safety they claim you get. There are many features I didn't add this time around, but when its time to buy one... ADD IT UP! Check these features out:

  • Chevrolet Camaro 2SS 426 HP v8 Aluminum Engine w/ Oil Cooler
  • Bluetooth wireless technology for select compatible phones, USB port, Remote vehicle starter system, On-star, and steering wheels with audio controls
  • Boston Acoustics 9 speaker 245-watt audio system
  • Heated leather seats w/ SS embroidery
  • 21 inch wheels
  • Bonnet stripe package
  • 6 speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control
  • and a RS package and MANY MORE FEATURES!

Looks like this Camaro is going to be great. Not to mention that there are 5 engine variations and countless ways to customize it and make it unique and one of a kind.

Don't be surprised if you see me riding around listening to some Muzik Clazz Ent. in the Camaro sometime soon.

Artist Spotlight: TrapStar (SC)

Success is achieved not only by luck, but by hard work. The harder you work the more you achieve. Greenville, South Carolina recording artist, TrapStar, is no stranger to hard work. He was raised by a single mother for a majority of his childhood. His struggle was evident as he frequently changed residences and his mother worked numerous jobs to make ends meet. The first of his mothers three children, music has always been apart of his life.

Like most of todays troubled youth, TrapStar was no stranger to the troubles of street life and fast living. While his mother was away working to provide a decent lifestyle, he grew up with his uncles who were knee deep in the neighborhood street life. Living in the infamous district 25, known for drugs & crime, he had his fair share of a lifestyle that eventually led to a run in or two with the law. Seeing his uncle get 30 years for murder really slowed him down. Teachers always told him he was too smart for his own good. So instead of writing reports he started writing the reality in which he lived to pass time in high school. Upon competing in and winning numerous talent shows (one judged by Ludacris), he decided to take the hobby seriously. He started making songs in local studios and decided to put together an album.

In October 2000, he released his first project, Street Mathmatics. After releasing the project the hard work began, which was selling the units he duplicated himself. Without local radio airplay, distribution, or promotional material he went on to sell over 1,000 copies. Not bad considering circumstances and the fact he manufactured his own CDs. With the profits from Street Mathmatics, he purchased some home studio equipment and began the grind most know as rap.

In 2006, TrapStar, linked up with Big Cat Records in hopes of getting the record deal he was after. The union didn’t last long with TrapStar returning home to continue pushing his own music. Then in 2007, opportunity came knocking again when he was invited to Echo Studios, home of Grand Hustle, to work with some of the artists such as J.R. Get Money & Yung LA. This union proved to be fruitful as TrapStar began building relationships and getting advice from the King of the South, T.I.. And leading into 2008, the future looks brighter than ever. With many appearances already booked for the year, TrapStar hopes to capitalize on his My Space popularity and get the recognition he’s been craving his whole life.

Artist Spotlight: Mississippi Sipp (Leland, Mississppi)

NEW HIT SINGLE FROM SIPP OF LELAND, MISSISSIPPI... KANDY PAINT RECORDS...

CHECK OUT HIS MUSIC CLICK HERE

True Playas, Pimps, Hustlas and Fans of Down South Hardcore Reality Rap know rapper Artist/Ceo SIPP Of Kandy Paint Records talent and street fame like they know their own. As a Young 23yr old Player from the South and CEO of Kandy Paint Records "SIPP" blazed the scene for local popular Southern rap acts such as Lower 9, BDP(BLACK DOGG POSSE),754 Boyz, Needle in a Haystack and countless of others to follow. As a CEO, Artist,Song Writer,Producer, Graphic Designer and a Trill Hustler, the LELAND MISSISSIPPI native is on the come up and is literally helping mold the sound of Southern rap music, certain influences like DJ Screw, Master P, Juvenile, Baby, Lil-Keke, UGK, Mr.Pookie, SUC, LIL FLIP, CED T, 3-6 Mafia, Playa Fly, and many other Texas Rappers help gave "SIPP" DA NEW DOWN SOUTH SOUND. Born Terry "Terell" Brisco twenty-four years ago in the small town of Leland, Mississippi born & raised in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Black Dog where he experienced the various ups and down associated with being a young Black male growing up Down South. Like many southern areas in the late 80s Leland, Mississippi was hit with a crack epidemic that turned the once peaceful town upside down. Drugs and violence became a common place and "SIPP" struggled to avoid the traps that the Streets and Court System set up for young black men. One of the things that helped him do this was listen to music. A big big fan of Down South Music "SIPP" started his first rap group in the late 90's called Black Dog Posse Dope Boyz with his childhood friend Byron Jones. Later SIPP and others from Leland, Mississippi/Black Dog Posse "DOPE" Boys ended up amongst the violence and Gun Play so "SIPP" was forced to move to another location in Leland and changed their name to the "Cadillac Dope Boys" due to the NEW area that they Chilled, Rapped and Trapped Dope, Also everybody drove Redd "Cadillac" cars. Mississippi "SIPP" first taste of success was when a local Artist and a close friend of his uncle named Ced-T had gotten recognized by a local Texas record company called Rap-A-Lot Records but Ced T was later on Killed and gunned down in a neighborhood in Leland, Mississippi but not by any rivals but by a out of towner who was just a Jealous person. After all the heartache and pain of seeing a young Artist get Killed at the time Sipp was at the age on the come up to where he can understand that even the closets or the person you look up too most can leave or get killed at any given moment. In 1998, SIPP was forced to relocate in another rough area up north which was the Virginia/Washington DC area due to so much violence and gang banging in his Leland, Mississippi neighborhood after he and others joined and restarted a long time click "VICE LORDS" were they only wore Redd and always kept trouble around since there was nothing left to do in Leland, Mississippi besides Rapping, Dope Selling, Stealing, Smoking, Hustling or just living day to day Grind and day to day Crime. "SIPP" dropped His national debut/Mix Cd called Going back to Leland. The mixtape contained the hit single from the underground film Down South Live&Uncut called Dirty Struggle a tale of a young hustler bleeding the block Redd. The record made Sipp an instant local star but fans never took it serious for a young 14yr old at the time to say and talk about such harsh street tales,Also with the I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude on the mic and with no video or radio support the single was heard but after time passed by it was forgotten. As a result of all the negativity and moving back and forth from up north too going back down south and in & out of trouble his talent started to fade and all focus was lost but at the same time SIPP continued to listen to all old school southern music plus new and upcoming artists from the south with that being said gave him personal time to write for others and write his own songs from the struggles he was going through at the moment, Before SIPP had a chance to give up his rap ambition another local CEO from up north by the name of Brian Pinkney heard Sipp flowing outside of a club one night and wanted to sign him immediately to his company called ASAP Records but instead he actually helped Sipp establish Kandy Paint Records in the summer of 2005. The soon to be success of the young Kandy Paint Records CEO is not only gonna make SIPP the next biggest thing out of the south but also wake the world up and let them know that its more to music and the south than just Club Hoppin, Big rims, Gold Grillz, Drugs, Pimping Hoes, and Sipping DRANK. SIPP is one of the most sought after Ceo/Song writer/producer and rapper in the game as of 2008 and beyond. In the past 7 years he has produced records for many underground southern rappers and also has been featured on many underground albums and mixtapes, Now its time for SIPP to release his own first and most anticipated album ever in between 2006-2007 called Cadillac Dope Boy which is on his self made label Kandy Paint Records. Cadillac Dope Boy, named after SIPPs ambitious and successful skills, this is the first and most talked about underground Album including many more to come for the Leland,Ms native. The World should be on the look out for Sipp and get prepared for the take over that Kandy Paint Records is in the mix of doing the south wont be the same after this company blow up in smoke just like previous success like big companies No-Limit, Cash Money, Rap-A-Lot, Slip-N-Slide, SoSoDef, Trill Ent, Grand Hustle, D4L Ent, Swisha House, etc . . . . . . . .

"Gwopped Up" Major SUCCESS... 13,000+ DOWNLOADS IN WEEK

"Gwopped Up", a single by young South Carolina rapper C. Renegade, has crossed the 10,000 download milestone in less than a week. With over 13,000 downloads the single is a surprising addition to the collection of successful records released by Ren. Yet, never has any single released by "C." reach an audience so massive. Renegade credits the singles success to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, with help from his YouTube Channel and Reverb Nation for additional promotion. Renegade's success is only a fraction of the attention South Carolina, newly dubbed Karolina South, has been getting from major labels. Columbia native Lil Ru signed with Def Jam recently, followed by Juve of State House Records (Orangeburg) signed with Grand Hustle. 2009 is the year for all South Carolina musicians to step up to the plate. TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!!

Artist Spotlight: BeinYounG (SC)

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE NEW SINGLE "ALL AROUND THE WORLD" FT. DON P

BeinYounG is a music group that consists of two members: Newby The Neighborhood Hero & Maine. We are two COLLEGE kids that happens to enjoy the childish things in life a little bit more than others. We love to party, we love girls, & we love doing everything & anything that is the opposite boredom. While hanging around in the slumps of Lake City, South Carolina, we both started freestyling & at that point we knew that music was very special piece in our lives. We decided to get together & drop a 10 track mixtape entitled Living Room Music (LRM) We called it that because we basically made most of the tracks in our parents living room. Sooner or later, we started going to a real studio & we started doing freestyles for our friends. We recorded our FIRST real song entitled “You Would Think” which was played at a lot of house & organized parties. It wasn’t until this point when we decided to stop calling ourselves Newby & Young Maine... We were now known as Hip Hop’s most immature group, BeinYounG. Now our main focus is to make hits and music from real life situation. Most of our songs are made after funny serious times in our lives hanging together. As time moves on, we continue to get better at our music & we’re trying to make sure our music is not one dimensional. We want everybody, every color, & every race to be able to listen to our music & get a bounce. The N.H.B click is featured on some of our songs. All are songs are written by us and produced by Branden Wilson (Maddlock) We are not sign yet but we will continue to make music & soon, we will be at the top.

PERFECT CHEMISTRY BETWEEN PRODUCERS AND RAPPERS

Producers and rappers are the Yin & Yang of music... One sits behind the boards and creates a backdrop while the other sings over it and gets all the spotlight for... But sometimes the two have a mutual respect for good music and classics are made... Not just hits, but CLASSICS... People don't realize the song writing and producing process is stressful and long, but here is a perfect example of that chemistry that created classics... Alchemist and Prodigy in the beginning stages of the classic hit record "Hold You Down"
